First, 49-year-old Kim Rochelle McMillan kicked the officer attempting to apprehend her, then a dog entered the fray and took a shot at both of them before she was ultimately taken into custody on Friday morning.

Officers on patrol in the area of the Telegraph Commuter Lot in Woodbridge shortly before 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 25, spotted a suspicious vehicle with McMillan inside, and when approached, police say that the woman provided a false ID and fled into the woods nearby.

McMillan didn't get far, and when she was located, kicked one of the officers before being detained; however, an unaccompanied dog in the area got in the middle and sent both of them to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries after being bitten.

Further investigation found that McMillan has active arrest warrants and was in possession of controlled substances.

The Woodbridge resident was charged with:

  • Assault and battery on a law enforcement officer;

  • False identity to law enforcement officer;
  • Obstruction of justice;
  • Possession of Schedule I/II drugs;
  • Escape without force;
  • Trespassing.

Bond information for McMillan was not available on Friday, and her court date was pending. The dog was turned over to Animal Control officers.
